Due to the difficult situation in the energy sector of Ukraine, significant restrictions in the supply of electricity and the predicted worsening of weather conditions (severe frosts, snowfalls and risks of emergency outages), which create real threats to the safety of students, teachers and staff, the university management has decided to temporarily transfer the educational process and the work of administrative units to a remote (online) format until February 1, 2026 inclusive.
This decision is based on the following factors:
The energy situation in Ukraine is extremely tense: due to damage to the energy infrastructure as a result of military operations, the power supply system is operating at significantly reduced capacities, and emergency power and heating outages have been introduced. This creates risks for the uninterrupted operation of university buildings, dormitories, laboratories, and classrooms.
The Government and relevant authorities recommend that educational institutions and other organizations switch to remote work due to difficult weather conditions and low temperatures, taking into account the real situation. Such recommendations are contained in the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and are consistent with the position of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
What does this mean for students and employees?
The session, currently underway, from January 19 to February 1, 2026, will be held in an asynchronous (depending on the availability of light for students) online format using existing platforms and remote systems.
Administrative units are operating as usual, on site.
Visiting university buildings for teachers and students is possible upon agreement with the management of the unit, since at the university you can work or study in comfortable conditions, taking into account the power outage schedules.
We thank you for your understanding and mutual support in these difficult circumstances and continue to work to ensure safety and quality education for all members of the university community.
Sincerely, the administration.
